Do you have anti-virus software?

There is no need for us to provide anti-virus on a Linux box. There is no need to provide anti-virus for email. People already handle virus threats on their PC's. Extra virus protection is redundant.

Does Host World provide backups?

We create our own weekly backups for our shared servers, and we can restore from those. However, this is NOT a procedure you should rely on to keep your content safe. Backups are made every Sunday; only the newest backups are kept. We make no guarantees about our weekly backups, and we do require a $30 fee to restore your website backups. To restore the latest backup for your site please contact us. If you can provide your own backup file, then the fee is $0 (free). You are responsible for your backups and web content.

What if my account was suspended?

If your account is suspended less than 1 week before we run backups, your account will still be backed up!
If you are suspended for more than a week when we run backups, your old backup will be erased and you will not be included in the new backups. Thus, we will have NO backups for your account. So, it is very important that you maintain your own backups.

unfair use of account resources

(Web Pro Plan only) Host World does not set arbitrary limits on the amount of visitor traffic a web site can receive or on the amount of content a subscriber can upload to his/her/its website in a given month , nor does Host World charge additional fees based on increased use of bandwidth, as long as the subscriber's use of the services complies with our terms. In most cases, a subscriber's web site will be able to support as much traffic as the subscriber can legitimately acquire. However, Host World reserves the right to limit processor time, bandwidth, processes, or memory in cases where it is necessary to prevent negatively impacting other subscribers.

Issues that may result in account suspension:
1. Excessive MySQL activity
2. Using your web site as storage space to backup large quantities of files.
3. Using large amounts of bandwidth hosting files for other sites.
4. Using a script that causes problems for other customers.
5. Using an inordinate amount of bandwidth
